What does it take for you to be the highest expression of yourself?  This excerpt by Francis Wilshire  speaks to the coordination of body, mind, and spirit. "You must become harmonized through unified self-expression; that will give animation to your mind, grace to your body, and a living light to your soul, which will illuminate your whole personality. Then you will be expressing yourself as a complete whole. You must give your entire attention to the improvement, knowledge, and development of yourself". It takes practice to be our best self and to cultivate a loving spirit. These are tips:

 During the month of August, subtle changes are apparent in preparation for the Fall season. Leaves have begun to gently fall with vibrant hues of orange and yellow. Connecting with nature, we feel a sense of Oneness and contentment with the cycle of life. Consider adopting the pace of nature as you move throughout your daily life and meet life challenges. Strength, preserverance and change  are valuable lessons.

 Consider the following:
                                                                 -Nature is harmonious 
                                                                 -Nature is peaceful
                                                                 -Nature is healing
                                                                 -Nature is filled with beauty
                                                                 -Nature flourishes on simplicity

Reflect on the following:
                                                                 -Do you observe your surroundings
                                                                 -Do you have a favorite season? If so, why?
                            -Have you ever taken a walk in the woods or along the ocean and felt refreshed?
             -Do you pay attention to the tiniest creatures of nature and find beauty in ordinary things?
                                                          -What effect does nature have on your well-being?


I am a nature lover and bird watcher. When I feel out of sorts and discontent, nature is a tremendous grounding force that provides solace and rejuevenation.  Disconnect from technology. Take time to spend quality time in nature. Breathe the fresh air, feel the sun on your body, take your shoes off and connect with mother earth. Preserve, cherish and be grateful for nature's bounty ....See where it takes you. Journal on how this makes you feel?

WHO AM I THIS MOMENT?

How does it feel when you are truly present? How does it make you feel when someone is truly present with you?To be present in your life requires focused attention. Whether it is listening to music, reading a book, talking to someone, or  immersing yourself in a majestic view, our presence and focused attention brings us into the essence of that particular moment. This activity should be the only thing that matters; Otherwise, we become distracted and cannot fully appreciate our experience. This intense living experience is liberating and brings joy to our being. Despite our challenges, we can appreciate the gift  offered by being present and immersing ourselves in simple pleasures. "The ability to shape the course of one's life can be exercised in the present, not the past or the future (K. Stri Dhammananda). 

TODAY, be truly and fully present. Be awake in your life. BREATHE...Open your heart and senses (sight, smell, sound, taste, touch). Feel into the moment. Journal on what it means to be fully present. During the day focus your complete attention on each task. If you are in a conversation with someone, give him or her your undivided attention. Look at their face and hear their words. During your meals, take the time to savor each bite. Write about how this makes you feel.

Life is not merely existing and going through the habitual and mundane experiences of daily living. Every moment is a fresh opportunity to Live in Love and experience real Happiness. These are tips on Living Well

LOVE is inherent in self-compassion. We often find it easy to express Love and compassion to others, but not to ourselves.  It is our personal responsibility to treat ourselves well with goodness and loving-kindness. As we do so, we feel better and show others how much we value and appreciate ourselves. This ripple effect, enables others to do the same.

These tips will help you accept yourself with Love and Self Compassion: 

                                                                        -Know your worth

                                                                         -Be self-forgiving

                                                                         -Affirm self-love

GRATITUDE is an uplifting, heart-opening expression of appreciation for the abundance of life. So often we do not recognize the gifts in events and circumstances in our lives that are perceived as bad. However, as we look back on our lives, we discern the inherent blessing from those events. Perhaps we are wiser and make better choices. Sincere and heartfelt gratitude should be an incessant part of our daily life and it is life-changing.  GRATITUDE improves relationships, guards us from negativity, enhances self-esteem, fills us with joy, and shines away darkness. Celebrate your life with GRATITUDE! Contemplate the following questions:

                                             -Do you engagae in a daily practice of gratitude?
                                             -How does gratitude expressions uplift your spirit?
                                             -How do you feel when you engage in a spirit of gratitude?
                                            -Do you celebrate all of your accomplishments - whether large or small?

We have all felt some aspect of betrayal by someone we trusted, disappointed by our own actions, or emotionally challenged by a situation that we could not change. What do you need to let go? Who do you need to forgive? What is stopping you from moving forward? It takes deep spiritual practice with an open heart of LOVE. Know who you really are...and that is DIVINE LOVE. FORGIVENESS is a fresh start to a new beginning. What does it take to FORGIVE?

 

-A compassionate heart

-Reflect love

-Evolve spiritually
