SELF-CARE IS SETTING HEALTHY BOUNDARIES

"You have to learn how to say no without feeling guilty. Setting boundaries is healthy. You need to learn to respect and take care of yourself"

Have you ever resigned yourself to doing something that did not feel good for you? Have you said "Yes" when in your heart you knew you should have said "No"? Do you feel guilty when you say "No"?  What feels good and right for you is good and right for others. Often we say "Yes" because we feel obligated and responsible for others, even though it may inhibit their personal growth and sense of responsibility. We may say "Yes" because we are inclined to be people pleasures and believe that our self-worth comes from others.

Uncondiitonal love is responding with the expectation of something in return..."If I do this for you, when my time comes, I expect you to respond to me the same". When others do not respond according to your expectations, this builds up anger and resentment.  When we set healthy boundaries, we teach others how to treat us and this creates a ripple effect for change, not only for you but others as well.

It is our duty to take care of our mental, physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. SELF CARE is SELF-LOVE. Stay strong and be clear about what is best for you. This takes constant awareness. Take the time to pause before you respond. Go inward and you will know what feels right. Overthinking can cause unhappiness.

Self Care is loving yourself enough to set healthy boundaries. Self Care is being True to yourself by:


                                                              -Knowing your worth

                                                              -Trusting your intuition

                                                              -Nurturing your inner child

                                                              -Developing your support system

                                         -Select an area you think you are weak in and set goals to change it

LOVE is our natural state of being. Kindness is an ingredient in the 'Recipe of Love', where we use our voice, hands, and heart mind for compassion, charity and truth and love. Love unconditionally and be forgiving. Our actions reflect who we are. When we are being kind, we are considerate, compassionate, complimentary, and gentle. In order to show KINDNESS to others, we must first be KIND to ourselves. When we are KIND to ourselves, we appreciate and accept ourselves. Listen to yourself. How are you talking to yourself. Have you befriended yourself? We can accept ourselves with Loving-Kindiness and compassion by: 

                                                                    -KNOWING YOUR WORTHY

                                                                     -BEING SELF-FORGIVING

                                                                     -AFFIRMING SELF-LOVE

Love is a powerful force and an essential part of the human experience. It is a universal language that supersedes differences. However, living in love is life's greatest challenge. Our search for love can be a lifetime quest and distorted by life experiences and relationships.As Leo Buscaglia quotes,"One cannot give what he does not possess. To give love you must possess love. One cannot teach what he does not understand. To teach love you must comprehend love. One cannot know what he does not study. To study love you must live in love".  Love is not merely a casual expression of emotional sentiments, but our natural state of being.


The Wholistic Model of Love includes 9 ingredients in the 'Recipe of LOVE':

IT'S TIME FOR RENEWAL

This is a time for self-renewal and new beginnings. Take inventory of your life and reflect on how much you have grown. It's time to discards outworn beliefs and to create a new  chapter and a new "LOVE STORY".

Use the Power of Sankofa, from the Akan Tribe in Ghana, the mythical birth with it's feet pointed forward and it's head turned backward retrieving a fertile egg. As you look back upon your life, profit from the valuable lessons you have learned. We are all in a state of becoming. Renew your purpose, be authentically you, go within for clarity and guidance, and live wholeheartedly.  Most importantly, treat yourself with love and compassion.  As you look back, you will realize how Resilient you are and how much you have Overcome. What do you admire about yourself? Are you doing what is best for yourself? What are the core beliefs that guide your life?

Our lives encompass all kinds of adaptations, adjustments, and accommodations on a daily basis. We can get caught up into what is expected of us, illusions of success and happiness to the point where we lose ourselves. Creating a false personality image can be exhausting and draining. Your true self, the Divine essence of who you really are, is stable and unchanging. Go within and connect to the LOVE within and Be Your True Self. These points are helpful:

REAL HAPPINESS: HOW CAN I FIND IT?

A universal desire by the vast majoirty of human beings is to be happy. We search for happiness in relationships, jobs, activities, and entertainment with fleeting moments of pleasure. However, the true state of happiness requires self-regulation and choice. Happiness is a higher state of being. The process of discipling the body and purifying speech and mind brings happiness.  Take note of the following words of wisdome to promote a happy and harmonious life by Rahula:


                                                       -RIGHT SPEECH and Abstention from telling lies, slander and talk that may bring hatred, disunity, and disharmony among individuals or groups of people
